Am I Frugal or Cheap?

June 3rd, 2009 · No Comments

It is one of the great debates.  What is the difference between being frugal and being cheap?  Which would you categorize yourself as? And, are they one in the same.  I do not believe that they are.  I believe however that begin frugal is quite different from being cheap and that I would rather be frugal than cheap.

I believe that a frugal person is a wise shopper. They do not purchase something just because of price but also because of quality.  They weight the quality versus the price and are wise shoppers who plan their purchases before making a purchase and do not buy something just because of the price tag.

Frugal people also believe in the power of giving.  They are not too cheap too give, but on the other hand give from a giving heart.  Many of them use their frugality in other areas to give them the ability to give greater.

Frugal people work to save money. They coupon clip, they shop the sales, they plan their purchases.  They do not mind a little hard work if they know it can save them time and money.

Now that you have a better understanding of frugal versus cheap which would you say that you are.  Still not sure? Read more about frugal living here.
