Benefits Of Creating A Personal Budget

I’m asked quite a bit about what the benefits of creating a personal budget are. It obviously takes some time to set up and maintain, and let’s face it … making and sticking to a budget isn’t the most fun thing to do. So there have to be some definite advantages to making a budget , if this is going to be something we stick with for months and years to come.

For one, you end up spending less on necessities like groceries (with the help of a family food budget ) and other items you don’t really need (like that huge cell phone plan or the deluxe cable package) and get to use that money instead to build a debt free future or buy your dream car or dream house in the future. Or maybe you’ll use the money for a fun family vacation. It really doesn’t matter what you do with it. The point is, you get to spend the money on things you really want instead of wasting it on everyday items that you don’t care about without even realizing it.

All of a sudden living within your means and having the things you want at the same time become possible and that is the real benefit of creating a personal budget along with the piece of mind that being financially secure gives you.

This is the problem most people face with dealing with making a budget plan…they don’t want to give up the luxuries.

In a lot of ways, it seems it’s a result of our culture and in other ways…people just like luxury in general.

One thing they don’t realize is that they can still have luxury without paying an arm, leg or even a kidney for it.
