Budget Everything

June 19th, 2009 · No Comments

Having a budget is one of the most important things you can do to ensure your financial success, but be careful to factor in all of your expenses when creating your budget.

The most common categories are:  mortgage, car payment, childcare, utilities, and loan payments.  While these should definitely be factored into your budget, you should also remember to add in the expenses that do not occur monthly.  The items could include:  car insurance, birthday parties, birthday gifts, vacations, Christmas, trips to the veterinarian, car maintenance, and yearly medical checkups.  Forgetting to add these to your budget can really throw you off when they arise.

Once you have written out the expenses to be included in your budget, go back through and make sure you have listed everything.  All of the expenses you will encounter for the entire year should be in there.  Of course things will arise that you cold not possibly have foreseen, but including everything else in the budget helps you to see your true bottom line.

If you forget to add these items to the budget, and have everything budgeted out to the penny.  There will be no extra when these things happen.  You do not want you car insurance to be canceled because you forgot about paying it.

Help safeguard your finances by being especially careful when you map out your budget.
