Home schooling is becoming more and more popular, but how do you pay for all of the supplies. There is good news; you do not have to purchase everything that you would find in a normal classroom, for home school. Get creative and you can make the things that you do not already have. For instance, if you are teaching a kindergarten student to count, instead of buying a container full of the little counting bears, why not go through your home to see what you have. Lego blocks, small toy trucks and cars, and anything else that is small enough to be grouped together and counted will work. You could make it fun and tasty by using things like chocolate chips or cereal.
Although reading is important, you do not have to purchase every book on your list. Check out your local library for books. You will probably be able to find most, if not all, of the books that your child needs to read.
Stop by used curriculum sales to pick up your materials for the year. Certain home school curriculum can get expensive, and by trying to find one that is used you can usually save a lot of money.
Home school is a wonderful choice, and although it can look extremely expensive, you can do it for less.
