How Going Green Can Save You Some Green

February 4th, 2009 · No Comments

Going green, it is a popular term that represents a great cause.  One which many people are dedicating their life to, but even if you don’t fully understand the reasons that people are choosing to go green, at least understand this one, it can save you some green, or money.

So, if for no other reason, maybe you should choose to go green to help put a little more of your hard earned cash back to work for you.  Many of the things that “go greeners” are doing to save the environment can also save you when it comes to your pocketbook as well.  The following are a few examples:

Conserving electricity. Not only is it good for our environment but it can save you money.  Simply by cutting back your everyday use, or by using more energy efficient means within your home, whether it be through running your dryer less and hanging your clothes out to dry or by purchasing a digital thermostat to help with your heating and cooling bill or by using compact fluorescent light bulbs.  Whatever you choose to do it can help you to save.

Buy less, or by used. Who says something has to be “brand new” to be new to you, from used cars to used clothes you can buy used and still get a great deal and something that works or wears just as well.  Thrift stores are a perfect place to shop for just about any item you can think of and not only is it easier on your wallet, but also on the environment.

Use less gas. As prices of gas peeked around the country there were many of us who did this anyway, whether we carpooled, took the bus or rode a bike we all were looking for ways to cut back.  These same things can be done to go green and to save money too.

These are just a very few of the ways that you can go green and save some green, look for more ways to do so in your everyday life.
