Is Your Credit Suffering?

October 17th, 2009 · No Comments

I don’t know about you, but from time to time lately, in this tough economy I have gotten behind on my bills.  Whether it be medical bills or credit card bills these are the ones that I tend to slip up on.  I know I have to keep the necessities for my family, including food, clothing, shelter and transportation, but sometimes when money is tight credit card payments just don’t come at the top of my list.

This is when I begin to wonder, “Is my credit suffering?” The truth is our credit can suffer after extended non-payment or continued late payments.  We must be careful what we do to our credit by being late or not paying.  Even though credit card companies are sometimes ruthless in their calling for payment, it is smart to talk to them, let them know your situation and try to negotiate a payment that you can work into your budget.

Be honest, and let them see that you are willing to work with them to make your payments and to help keep your credit from suffering.
