Partner with a Friend to Save Money

July 15th, 2009 · No Comments

We have all heard the debate over buying in bulk.  Does it really save you money?  Do you buy a large quantity, only to waste the majority of it?  Well, if you have a friend that you can partner with, buying in bulk can be a money saver.

When you decide to buy in bulk, consider the price per unit.  Many times you can find some really good deals this way.  Next, consider your friends and family.  Do you know someone that uses the same type of products that you do?  If so, ask them if they are interested in buying a large quantity in bulk, and dividing it.  This can be anything from food to school supplies.

The normal family may not use a box if 100 ink pens, but if you spilt it among several families it can be a great way to save on school supplies.  The same goes for paper, crayons, markers, office supplies, and pencils.

Food can also be divided among multiple families.  Things like cheese, sandwich meat, multi-packs of mustard, ketchup, peanut butter, and jelly.  You can even divide meat and produce the same way.

Other household goods can be divided the same way.  You may want to consider things like cases of bathroom tissue, paper towels, Ziploc bags, cleaning supplies, and the list could go on and on.

So sit down and make out a list of friends that have families similar to your own, and ask them if they might be interested.
