Use Your Library

If your family is anything like my family, they may get bored of just sitting around.  However, with no money to spare it is not always possible to go out to the movies or bowling, but there is free entertainment out there.

You local library can be a life saver.  They have movies, books, magazines, and even books on tape.  Most libraries have movies that are up to date, and if they do not currently have the one that you are interested in, you can always request that they order it.  My favorite part about the library is, as long as you return them on time, they are free.

Another advantage of the library is all of the reading material at your disposal.  What better time to get your family interested in reading.  Take them to the library and let them choose their own books.  The more your children read, the more their imagination comes to life, and with all of the books available at the library, they will not run out of new material any time soon.

If you have younger children, get some books on tape.  The more small children are read to, the better their vocabulary will be.  A great way to sneak in some extra reading time is to turn on one of the books on tape while they are playing.

Remember the magazines as well.  You can check out older editions of your favorite magazine from the library, so there is no need to buy them anymore.
