Why Save for Emergencies

August 10th, 2009 · No Comments

I don’t know about you, but sometimes it seems like Murphy moves into our house and stays and stays.  The washer breaks, the tires on the van have issues, the kids look like they are orphans their clothes are getting so small.  Every where I look we need something new and every thing costs major money.  It can be a little annoying but most of all it is painful, on the checkbook, especially when the money just isn’ t there.  What do you do?

Well, over the  years the one sure fire way to help heal this situation is to have an emergency fund in place.  Without it, these times are little scary, and we may have to “go without” something else in order to cure the Murphy issue.  Not so with an emergency fund.  It helps to cushion the blow of Murphy and get us through the tough time.

That is exactly why I suggest an emergency fund.  Try your best to put aside at least $1000 cash in the bank for those times Murphy comes to visit.  You’ll be glad you did!
